Dear Sheikh,
I was very pleased to observe during last weekend very positive developments in relations between EU and Iran. I am confident that with reference to our previous very good working relations this new situation offers broadening our contacts from my personal involvement to mutual cooperation between AEOI and my institute.

As you may remember, I am currently working as Vice President for Strategy Development in UJV Rez, a.s. (former name was Nuclear Research Institute Rez, a.s.) with headquarters located near Prague in the Czech Republic. UJV is a quite large company having together with its daughter companies more than 1000 employees. UJV provides a broad range of consulting and engineering services supported by the applied research in all areas associated with implementation of nuclear power. The company's activities involve support in siting, design, licensing, construction and operation of nuclear power plants for the utilities and the nuclear safety authorities. You can find more information in the attached booklet with the company profile.

UJV gained extensive experience in design, safety upgrading and licensing of 13 nuclear units of VVER designs successfully built and put into operation and provides continued support to operation of nuclear units. Most natural role of the UJV is supporting operating organization in any kind of needs associated with solving design and operational problems, including development of licensing documentation or independent support in negotiation with the supplier of nuclear technology.
Our detailed knowledge of Russian nuclear technology, the experience with licensing of nuclear units, routine use of the IAEA Safety Standards and knowledge of the extensive system of Russian regulatory documents used in combination with the relevant national legislation are significant factors for our qualified support to any kind of activities in connection with construction and operation of VVER nuclear units.

We are sure that our long experience in nuclear power forms a very good basis for offering any kind of support which AEOI may need in the future in connection with operation of the existing BNPP unit as well as with construction of new nuclear units. We would be pleased to provide you more detailed information regarding activities of UJV you may be interested in.

We would be honoured if you or any other representative of the AEOI could visit UJV institute and to discuss in more details our capabilities and possibilities for mutual cooperation. We therefore invite AEOI to visit the UJV institute at your earliest convenience. Among other possibilities, it is very easy to combine a visit to the IAEA with a visit to Prague, which we would be pleased to arrange for you.

I do not know yet about the hotel, just som time ago I asked our couterpart to make reservation in Grand Hotel Tehran. However, I do not know if this will happen.
