Subject: RE: Bushehr NPP reactor surveillance specimens tests
Dear Mr Ghods, Thank you for your enquiry. The mentioned research report was the result of a German research project regarding the application of the Master Curve approach to irradiated reactor pressure vessel steels. The report exists only in German language. Please find attached a copy of a publication with the summary of the investigated results. Results about the investigations on the decommissioned WWER-440 reactor pressure vessels of the Greifswald NPP and western steel welding seams are published as follows:· Viehrig, H.-W.; Houska, M.; Altstadt, E.: Master Curve testing of reactor pressure vessel multilayer welding seams. Proceedings of the ASME 2015 Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference Vol. 1B, New York: ASME.· Viehrig, H.-W.; Houska, M.; Altstadt, E.: Radiation and annealing response of WWER 440 beltline welding seams. Journal of Nuclear Materials 456(2015), 334-343.· Viehrig, H.-W.; Houska, M.; Kalkhof, D.; Schindler, H.-J.: Fracture mechanics characterisation of reactor pressure vessel multi-layer weld metal. International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping 135-136(2015), 36-51.· Viehrig, H.-W.; Altstadt, E.; Houska, M.: Radiation response of the overlay cladding from the decommissioned WWER-440 Greifswald unit 4 reactor pressure vessel. Nuclear Engineering and Design 286(2015), 227-236.· Viehrig, H.-W.; Houska, M.; Altstadt, E.; Kuechler, R.: Fracture mechanics characterisation of forged base metal ring of the decommissioned reactor pressure vessel of NPP Greifswald WWER-440 unit 4. ASTM STP1547, West Conshohocken: ASTM International, 2012, 978-0-8031-7533-4, 69-84.As I mentioned in my former email we are generally fain to support you in fracture mechanics testing and the evaluation of the test results. For a personal training and support we need the detailed requests and the conditions (location, equipment’s and methods to be used). Yours sincerely Hans-Werner Viehrig From: TavanaEngDep [mailto:tavanaengdep@nppd.co.ir]

Subject: Re: Bushehr NPP reactor surveillance specimens tests Dear Mr.Viehrig,
Thank you for your reply to our RFP.
According to the mentioned items in RFP about personnel training in test results' analysis, please give your proposal in this regard.
Also your company has done many researches in surveillance specimens test analysis based on our company's documents which is useful for our personnel. For instance, we have downloaded "Anwendung des Master Curve-Konzeptes zur Charakterisierung der Zähigkeit neutronenbestrahlter Reaktordruckbehälterstähle : Abschlussbericht ; Reaktorsicherheits-Vorhaben Nr. 150 1277" published by your institute but unfortunately it is in German language which makes it hard for us to use. Is it possible for you to send us the abovementioned document in English language?
Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and response in this matter.
Sincerely yours,
TAVANA Co.From: "h w viehrig"

Subject: RE: Bushehr NPP reactor surveillance specimens tests Dear Mr Ghods, Thank you for your request about the testing of surveillance specimens and technical support. Our department belongs to the government funded scientific research centre Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. The main focus is on basic research and not service-focussed. Therefore, we have not tested surveillance specimens from nuclear power plants. The surveillance specimens of the German Nuclear Power Plants were tested by the former Siemens KWU (now AREVA NP, Germany). Our laboratory is not licenced for such work. Nevertheless, we are technically equipped and able to handle and test irradiated specimens. Certificated tests have been performed with the presence of the engineering authority. Our experience is based on mechanical and fracture mechanics testing of reactor pressure vessel materials. We can offer you scientific technical cooperation in this field. This includes assistance in the preparation of the surveillance tests, the evaluation of test results and the designing of a hot cell laboratory for mechanical and fracture mechanics testing. Yours sincerely Dr. Hans-Werner Viehrig Dr. Hans-Werner Viehrig
